catching up - part 2

yes you're right there is no catching up part 1 on my blog, but part 1 was typed about 20 minutes ago and then my computer decided to freeze up...so stupid.  so i'm going to do a brief version of the original post.  we were all over last weekend...in the car every day for 4 days in a row.  we had a nice 4th of july with paul's family (and able to introduce paul's grandma to lucy) and then fun at our good friend mike and melissa's wedding with our college friends...

update

well i guess that the fever and crankiness that lucy had over the weekend was a virus...yikes!  when we dropped her off at daycare yesterday only 3 of the 7 kids were there because they were all home with the same thing that she had.  poor thing.  and then yesterday i had it...sore throat, temp, headache.  i am still feeling a little out of it today but hoping that i'm better by the weekend and REALLY hoping that paul doesn't get it.

we are off tomorrow to a friends wedding and for the 4th of july weekend...a 4 hour car ride with lucy...WISH US LUCK (and maybe ear plugs!).

i guess i am starting a new post because after i added the picture my computer killed internet explorer 3 times so i'm just going to start a new post...where was i?  oh yeah, on friday night paul's sister came over and we went for a walk...and it started to DOWNPOUR.  lucy was in the baby bjorn and we decided it was raining too hard to make it home so paul ran home to get the car and we waited under a tree.  i was worried about her getting cold so she wore my shirt...check it out...

and then lucy's other great thing is that she is always standing and wanting to walk.  she pushes our kitchen chairs around the kitchen and also stands up on her highchair and pushes that around.  here is a pic of her pushing the highchair around.  it's pretty funny...happy 4th of july week!  i'm hoping she lasts at daycare today with the teething issue...

i believe the quote was

"she hasn't cried this much in the first 9 months as she has in the past 3 days"  that was paul this morning describing lucy.  this weekend was a bit rough.  we are pretty confident it is teething and is really bothering her.  saturday she had a low grade fever and last night she was up almost every hour.  and when she wakes she is in PAIN, she has a super high pitched cry that breaks our heart.  anyway...

last week i was able to go out 2 nights.  one of the nights with my college roomies and the other night with my old coworkers for a happy hour.  i was able to catch up with hilary at the happy hour...it was great.  here's a cute pic of the 2 of us!!

we need to get new doors for our breezeway and front door: any votes on if we should go to: lowe's, home depot, or menards?

fun times

we had a nice weekend here with my parents and cousin in town.  friday night, we grilled steaks and visited outside...my mom, dad, and cousin looked at colleges in wisconsin on their way down.  and then saturday paul took tanner to the U and st. thomas and we hung out with lucy.  we got out lucy's swimming pool on saturday because the weather was awesome.  she was a litte unsure at first, which prompted me to sit in the pool with her :-).  but then she absolutely LOVED it.  everyone went to the twins game on saturday night except my mom, lucy, and i.  and sunday they headed home and we had a family day at the park.

lucy has been LOVING the baby bjorn lately, we take her for walks in it all the time.  and then she has been crusing/walking with her toy in the breezeway, it is so funny to watch.

2 things and a couple of pics

the 2 things i forgot to add: i'm pretty sure the reason lucy is acting like an 11 month old is because with the little amount she sleeps she has probably been awake the amount of time a normal 11 month old is...the girl doesn't need sleep!  and yesterday afternoon i stepped on my glasses, i have no back up pair so this morning i was wearing super glued glasses and spent the morning at the eye doc and buying new glasses.  just call me rico, rico suave...

oh and i bought a new camera, it's still a point and shoot...and i'm not sure how the heck to use it yet.  i haven't had time...any advice?  obviously i need some formatting advice as well...what the heck am i doing wrong?

doc appt

today we had lucy's 9 month doc appt.  everything went pretty well.  she had one shot and then blood taken from her finger to check her hemoglobin.  she weighs 20 lbs 12 oz (87th percentile) and is 28.3 inches long (84th percentile) so she's still a big girl.  the doc thinks she is on track to be a little over 5'8"...so we'll see about that.  he also said that with her crawling, standing, and words she is about the age of a 11 month old.  he was very surprised and impressed to hear that she is standing on her own for long periods of time     :). 

the other thing she is doing is saying 'row, row' because at daycare they sing 'row, row, row your boat' and rock back and forth with the kids.  she did it the other morning with me and then today at daycare and her teachers were so surprised...

i do have pics from last weekend, but i'm too lazy to do it on stupid typepad.  it's been a long week here...paul was in California for work and got home last night around midnight so we are all pretty tired and looking forward to the weekend!!

overdue update

things here have been insanely busy with lucy, our jobs, and just life.  i know you all know what it is like.  today lucy is 9 months!!  wow!

anyway, last weekend was good.  my mom came down for my cousin's grad party and lucy and i were able to make a short appearance...and paul was a bachelor party for the night so it was a girls night only.  and then this week paul had to make a trip to duluth for work so lucy and i decided to go with and visit silver bay.  i hadn't taken a day of vacation yet this year so it was a good opportunity to hang out with lucy.  it was freaking 45 degrees though with 30 mph winds.  NICE.  this weekend has been good so far.  we had a nice and busy day today going to the park, running errands, and hanging out.  tomorrow is father's day!!  yay paul!  we are hosting his family at our house and his younger sister returns from a month in africa.
