forward progress...

i have been MIA and super busy lately.  the latest and greatest update with lucy is that she is officially crawling forward and ALL over.  she does NOT sit still :-).

anyway, last week was busy with work.  i flew out monday morning and got home thursday evening.  my trip was better than i expected and went by actually pretty fast.  i think that is because i REALLY enjoy my new company and new job.  it was great to meet everyone that i work with day in and day out.  and paul did a great job with lucy while i was gone.  his mom was in town to help him and they had a good time.  i'm sure had to have it behind me. 

and then we had a great weekend here.  the weather wasn't too good, but we had a nice time around the house.  when i got home from my trip both paul and lucy were sick and now as of sunday night i am thinking they are turning the corner.  yesterday we were able to do a 4 mile run TOGETHER with lucy in the jogger.  and then today for mother's day we went to lake calhoun and walked around the lake.  lucy did awesome.  paul (and lucy) got me a bunch of pics framed for mother's day and paul said he realized that i am not in any of the pics we have around because i take all of them.  so we made a point of taking some of lucy and i today.  here we are starting another week...i'm looking forward to next weekend already because my parents are coming to town. happy mother's day!!!

i am alive

i am in dallas for work this WHOLE week so that is why i have been MIA.  i didn't post about it before because i wasn't looking forward to being away.  we have been in meetings from 8-6 everyday and then at activities from 7-10 or so each night so i haven't had much time to think about my life at home...

sunny saturday

so i thought we were supposed to wake up to snow showers this morning, but it was sunny all morning and day (30 mph winds, but i'll take it).  we had a good day here, we were up at 5 am so we are tired.  i had to share a couple pics of lucy.  she is ALL OVER the place and into EVERYTHING.  you can't leave here for 1 second because she climbs and pulls herself up on anything and of course ends up falling.  she had her first 'accident report' at daycare.  she fell forward and got a bruise/red mark above her lip.  it is so funny when she is pulling herself up she grunts really loud :-).  here's a couple of shots of today.

here she is standing, she was doing better but then saw the camera so she started reaching for it.  check out the stance...not exactly athletic.

have you ever....

thrown up or gagged from a toxic baby diaper??  oh my gosh, this morning i experience the WORST smelling diaper EVER.  and of course the timing wasn't great either.  i had just gotten lucy changed and into clothes for daycare and i was going to get everything else finalized so i put her in the exersaucer.  usually she is pretty chatty in there and it was quiet so i looked up to see what was going on and i just knew it...the pooping face!  so i take her on the changing table and open up the diaper and i nearly fell over.  i had to hold her on the table and reach over and open up the window...whew!  and of course it was on the outfit so we had an outfit change as well. 

i'm glad to report though that we both survived...i just wanted to see if there are others out there that have had this experience.  i'm now thinking, maybe i shouldn't have given her the apple/blueberry for breakfast...TGIF!

**disclaimer: i have a SUPER sensitive nose AND i was spolied with breastmilk poops that don't smell....

up north recap

we returned from a trip up north late tuesday night.  we headed up there on saturday midday and stayed in a hotel/casino with my parents and my bro and his gf.  we had a nice visit.  i was able to get away for a couple of hours and gamble with my mom, dad, and paul (at separate times) while they stayed with lucy when she was sleeping (thanks!!).  the highlight was that lucy experienced her first swim in the hotel pool.  they actually had a kiddie pool which was great.  paul went in there with her and she had a great time.  we had her in her swim diaper and shirt...here are a couple of pics:

after she was in all of the chlorine, paul took her into the shower to rinse off.  oh my gosh, it was hilarious...she didn't care at all that paul was holding her head RIGHT under the shower head.  she looks so different when her hair is flat!

on sunday, we headed up to SB because paul was going to work monday and tuesday in the area.  we went to my grandma's and met up with my cousins shay and lacey, and lacey's baby, kadence.  kadence is 9 days older than lucy so it was fun to have the 2 girls together.  i have a feeling they are going to have some fun together in the future...here's a couple of shots:

lucy got a sweet new hat that my grandma made and since it was freaking freezing and SNOWING while we were up there she got to use it...it's so cute!  thanks grandma!

and lucy's latest trick is 'SO BIG'.  my parents taught her how to do it over the weekend...she's a riot!

i am ALIVE and well!  we are in silver bay and heading home this evening.  i will post an update and pics in the next couple of days...

playing catch up

  wow, it has been awhile since i've posted about what's been going on.  it's been a whirlwind of a week.  paul was in SC for 5 days and my mom was here.   we had a good time together.  last wednesday i had a group of girls over and i was able to meet clara...here's a pic of michelle and clara:

we brought lucy to daycare for a couple of hours on friday so we could get a long walk and pedicure in.  and lucy wanted to show off her balance bar at daycare....i think this thing is so cute.

lucy's new move is what i call, 'the plank'.  she holds herself up like a push-up.  what a strong girl!

and then to top things off i had to add a pic of today...you can see lucy's teeth coming in

today it was in the mid-70's so lucy and i spent some time in the grass when she got home from daycare.  she was loving pulling it.  and yesterday we took her to the park and she rode down the slide with paul.  i wasn't good enough to have my camera with. 

this weekend we are getting together with my parents to celebrate my bday...have a good rest of the week and sorry for all of the pics!!!

oh man

i am so behind on posting.  i have some great pics from the past week that i will get up soon!  things have been super busy with work, lucy, hosting, and the NICER weather!!  i have a big project for work that i need to finalize and once that is done i will be rocking and rolling!

hope you are all having a great day.  it's in the mid-70's here and supposed to get cold this weekend...blah!
